Installing the Prothane Motor Mount Inserts

The Prothane motor mount inserts are designed to reduce engine movement by filling the gaps in the stock motor mounts with hard polyurethane. The effects of this are more torque transfered to the wheels instead of absorbed by the soft stock mounts and less wheel hop which could be fatal to drivetrain components. You will also notice more positive shifting.

I have broken the installation down into sections for each of the three mounts. The front motor mount is covered below. Please click on the links for the passenger side mount and the transmission side mount.

STEP 1. Loosen the front wheel lugnuts then jack up the front of the car and support it with jackstands. I only say to loosen the lug nuts so you can remove the wheels when you do the other two mounts. Don't worry about loosening them if you're only installing the front inserts.

STEP 2. Remove the bolt going through the center of the motor mount. Pic1

STEP 3. Remove the remaining two nuts and one bolt holding the front mount in place. Remove the front mount from the car completely. Pic2

STEP 4. Clean the mount and put the inserts in place as shown. Pic3

STEP 5. Reinstall the mount by placing it back in place and putting the two nuts and bolt in part way. Then put the through bolt in and tighten it. Then tighten the rest.
